Monad Testnet Onboarding Guide

What is the Monad Public Testnet?

The Monad Testnet is the first publicly available version of the Monad Protocol ("Monad"). The goal is to provide a safe and risk-free environment for developers to experiment, and communities to interact with dApps before they go fully live on Monad Mainnet.

In case you’re not already aware, Monad is the world’s most performant EVM chain. It’s 100% bytecode compatible with Ethereum, but re-built from scratch to be faster, cheaper and more user-friendly, without compromising on security or decentralization. For more, check out the technical documentation or visit the website.

The Monad Public Testnet ("Testnet") is an evolving experience - what you see on day one will look drastically different from Mainnet launch day. As a user, we recommend trying out as many experiences as possible throughout the testnet phase. Be sure to send your feedback to app teams!

Get started on the Monad Testnet landing page.

Cool, how do I use it?

Wallets + Setup

Go to monadtestnet.phantom.com for a fully custom community experience on Phantom Wallet. If you’re using Phantom, OKX Wallet, Uniswap Wallet, or Backpack, the network will automatically be added to your wallet. If you’re using other major EVM wallets that require manual add, you can add Monad Network by following the steps on testnet.monad.xyz

How do I get Testnet tokens?

From the testnet hub, simply paste your EVM wallet address into the faucet to request some testnet tokens.

I got some tokens, what's next?

Thanks to native integrations with Uniswap and Dialect’s Blinks, you can make your first trade on Testnet without leaving the page. Not sure which to choose? Browse the traits and pick the one you vibe with most - or just collect them all! Coins are available on Uniswap—either from the landing page or through Uniswap’s front end. If you’re on Uniswap’s front end, be sure to enable “Testnet mode” in the upper right-hand menu.

Stay Secure:

Using a fresh wallet on a fresh browser is recommended. Assets on the Monad Testnet are not real, but if your wallet is connected to other mainnets, your risk of compromise is increased. Be aware of malicious links, files, etc. Practice diligence, always. For a deeper dive on user security in crypto, check out this recent episode of The Pipeline Podcast.
